MAP technology and application

Definition

Air-regulated preservation packaging is also called MAP or CAP in foreign countries, air-regulated packaging or displacement gas packaging, gas packaging.According to the actual needs of customers, a certain proportion of O2+CO2+N2, N2+CO2 and O2+CO2 mixed gas will be filled into the packaging to prevent the quality decline of food in physical, chemical, biological and other aspects or slow down the rate of quality decline, so as to extend the shelf life of food and improve the value of food.

Main Function

1. The machine is suitable for box-type packaging of all kinds of food. It can continuously and automatically complete the steps of vacuuming, automatic mixing of fresh air (usually CO2, N2, O2), aeration, sealing packaging, cutting, and discharge of packaging products.
2. It can complete packing films and boxes made of different materials, such as composite film, single film and co-extrusion film, for sealing packaging;
3, servo motor drive, programmable logic controller (PLC) with touch screen to achieve human-machine interface dialogue, each part of the action and control parameters can be set and modified by PLC.Convenient and reliable control, accurate and flexible, low failure rate;
4. The main body is made of SUS304 food grade stainless steel material, and the surface of the equipment is easy to clean;
5. Sealing pressure, temperature, time and other parameters can be accurately controlled to ensure the ideal sealing effect;
6. Photoelectric tracking of cover film pattern to ensure the integrity of package printing pattern;
7. Mold shape can be customized according to the packaging box style selected by customers;

Application: can be widely used in meat, poultry, fish, fruits and vegetables and other fresh food, cooked meat products, bread and cakes and other baked food packaging.Food packaged by air conditioning has been more and more recognized by food processing manufacturers and consumers because it can better maintain the original taste, color, shape and nutrition of food, and at the same time can achieve a longer freshness period.In the European and American markets, the development of food with air-regulated packaging has been rapid, with an annual growth rate of up to 25%. The total volume of air-regulated packaging products has exceeded 5 billion boxes every year.

Machine features: the machine adopts the combined control of machine, electricity and gas. The human-machine interface dialogue is realized by the PLC PLC unitary touch screen. The action and control parameters of each part can be set and modified by PLC.Convenient operation and control, reliable, low failure rate;High degree of automation in packaging process, high yield of packaging;The main components of the whole machine are made of stainless steel, to ensure food hygiene and safety, in line with food machinery standards GB 16798-1997;Mold shape can be configured according to the shape of the packaging box selected by the user, applicable to a wide range;Precise gas mixing ratio ensures food preservation requirements.

MAP applications:

Air-regulated packaging is also called MAP or CAP in foreign countries, air-regulated packaging or displacement gas packaging, gas packaging.Commonly used gases are N2, O2, CO2, mixed gas O2+N2 or CO2+N2+O2 (MAP).The technology of air-regulated packaging can be widely used to keep fresh of all kinds of food, extend the shelf life of food and enhance the value of food.

Application of CO2
A Swedish company has introduced packaging bags, containers and storage rooms filled with 100%CO2 to store meat.High concentration of CO2 can inhibit the propagation of aerobic bacteria and molds, prolong the stagnation period and exponential growth period of microbial growth, and play the role of anti-corrosion and anti-mildew.With this method, the pork can be preserved for 120 days without freezing treatment, and the storage time can be longer if the pork is repressurized.This approach has caused great concern in meat exporting countries such as the United States and Australia.
Recently, experts in the United States have adopted a new technology to make plastic packaging materials out of CO2.A special catalyst is used to mix CO2 and ethylene oxide (or propylene oxide) in equal amounts to make a new plastic packaging material with glass-like transparency and air permeability.Similar to polycarbonate and polyamide resin;Does not completely decompose into gases at 240¡æ;It has the characteristics of biological decomposition that will not pollute the environment and soil.
China has successfully used nanotechnology to catalyze CO2 synthesis of degradable plastics.That is to use CO2 to make plastic catalyst "smash" to nanoscale, achieve catalytic molecules and CO2 polymerization, so that each gram of catalyst catalyzes about 130 grams of CO2, synthesis of new packaging materials containing 42%CO2.As an environmental protection material with excellent degradation, it has a broad application prospect.

Nitrogen application
Nitrogen (N2) is an ideal inert gas, which has special effects in food packaging: it does not react with food and is not absorbed by food. It can reduce the oxygen content in the package, greatly inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria, mold and other microorganisms, and slow down the oxidation and decay of food, so as to keep food fresh.Nitrogen-filled packaging food can also prevent food from crushing, food bond or shrink into a group, to maintain the geometric shape of food, dry, crisp, color, flavor and other advantages.Nitrogen filled packaging is rapidly replacing the traditional vacuum packaging, has been used in Fried potato chips and French fries, oil cooking food, etc.Popular among consumers, especially children and youth, nitrogen-filled packaging is expected to be applied to more food packaging.
N2 is used in The United States to increase the strength of soft drink cans made of thin aluminum. Nitrogen is dissolved in the beverage before it is canned.After the drink can is sealed, nitrogen is released from the drink, creating a pressure on the wall that makes the can act as an air filling, thus increasing the strength of the drink can significantly.The canned beverage will not cause damage in transportation, stacking or on the shelves, nor will it affect the quality of the beverage.This method can also be used in beverage packaging made of polyester plastics.
The purity and quality of N2 should be emphasized in the application of N2.The purity of nitrogen from the compressed air can be up to 99.9% by membrane separation or psa.The purity of N2 used in food packaging must be pure nitrogen (i.e., safe).

Composite gas application
The composite air-modulated fresh-keeping packaging is collectively referred to as MAP packaging in the world. The air-modulated fresh-keeping gas used is generally composed of CO2, N2, O2 and a small amount of special gases.CO2 can inhibit the growth and reproduction of most aerobic spoilage bacteria and molds.O2 inhibits the growth and reproduction of most anaerobic putrefaction bacteria;To maintain the color of fresh meat, oxygen – rich respiration and freshness of fresh fruits and vegetables;N2 as filling gas.According to the type of food, storage requirements and packaging materials, the composition of compound gas can be properly selected to achieve the effects of high quality of fresh packaging food, good nutrition composition, real original properties, and delay the shelf life of fresh packaging food.
